Howdy! My name is Kim Ernstrom and for some reason when I moved to Boise 6 years ago I thought turning 40 would be a good reason to learn to paddle a kayak. Who knew that it would take over my life! I enjoy my new found activity year round and paddle upwards of 100+ days a year. I feel very lucky to live in one of the best places in the world to be a kayaker. Idaho has it all when it comes to whitewater and living in Boise makes it all so accessible. Working with Alpenglow over the past couple of years has really gotten me excited about Jackson Kayaks. Whether playboating at the Boise River Park, river running on the South Fork Payette Canyon, creeking down the North Fork in the winter or doing a multi-day trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon, there is a design that works anywhere you put - in. I spend my working days at the National Interagency Fire Center as a wildfire analyst so sometimes work gets in the way of the summer river fun, but it keeps me crossing my fingers for snow and rain in the winter and spring. Kayaking has taken me to places I would have never imagined... Chile, Costa Rica, Western North Carolina and the Oregon Coast... can't wait to find out what happens next. See ya on the river!
